CAROL BASSETT has raised two children, headed a successful sports marketing company, hosted a cable television program, and been an avid athlete all of her life. She has practiced yoga and Pilates for 20 years and enjoyed skiing for over 30 years. This lifelong dedication to fitness and nutrition has kept her in excellent health and she maintains an active schedule of golf, running, yoga, Pilates, and working out with her young grandkids.
Like many parents and grandparents, Carol is deeply concerned about the startling declines in children’s health and fitness during the last 10-20 years, due to lack of exercise and too much time spent in front of television, video games, and computers.
Her concern motivated her to start a company, Nubod Fitness, Inc., whose goal is to reduce childhood obesity in America. For the company’s first project, Carol designed, wrote, and published a color activity guide for children ages 6-12 called "Walk Like a Bear, Stand Like a Tree, Run Like the Wind" This full-color, 40-page book both informs and inspires children (and their parents) to get up, get moving, and get fit.
Carol is a certified instructor with both the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) and the United States Golf Fitness Association (USGFA). She is completing her personal trainer certification with the American Council of Exercise (ACE). She is an active member of the Women’s Southern California Golf Association (WSCGA). |
